Enzo Maresca has always come across as a friendly figure since taking charge at Chelsea, and that’s been further proved by his nice comments towards Thomas Tuchel.
The Chelsea boss may come across as nice, but there have been points where he’s needed to really rip into players, with one particular instance involving Mykhailo Mudryk.
Chelsea’s fortunes have certainly turned around since Enzo Maresca rocked up at Stamford Bridge, as they now look like a side with real togetherness and cohesion.
Many fans would have been happy with their side working their way back into Champions League contention this season, but the Blues look like title challengers at the minute.
One positive in Chelsea’s bid is the fact that they’ve now got a fully fit squad to choose from, as Reece James has made it through his injury recovery.
However, when talking in his press conference, Maresca chose to pay respect to Thomas Tuchel after he was appointed England boss, in amongst all the Chelsea updates.

Enzo Maresca sends message to Thomas Tuchel
Thomas Tuchel’s time at Chelsea ended on a sour note after Todd Boehly refused to let him into the dressing room during the win over West Ham, a day before his sacking.
However, he’s rebuilt himself since, enjoying a respectable time of things in Bayern Munich before becoming a free agent prior to his England appointment.
He’s been officially announced as the England international boss now, with his deal set to run out after the 2026 World Cup.
In his press conference ahead of Liverpool (as per Football.London), Enzo Maresca sent Thomas Tuchel a welcome message.
“All the best to Thomas. Nothing more. If people in charge decide for him it’s because they are convinced.”
Thomas Tuchel’s time at Chelsea
Tuchel managed 63 Premier League matches for Chelsea and enjoyed a 56% win ratio.
At Chelsea, he won the UEFA Champions League and among managers with 50+ games managed in the competition, only Pep Guardiola and Louis van Gaal can better Tuchel’s win ratio of 59.7%.
He was known for his possession-style approach, averaging 62.2% possession throughout his time there. Interestingly, only Pep Guardiola has a higher average possession with one club, and only Guardiola’s City is averaging more successful passes per game than Tuchel’s Chelsea.
