Diego Simeone, who’s 52, is the Atletico Madrid boss and has been in charge of the Spanish club since 2011.

Despite battling against superpowers Real Madrid and Barcelona during the past decade, Atletico have still won two La Liga titles with Simeone at the helm.

The Argentine boss does divide opinion at times for his pragmatic and defensive approach, but he’s a meticulous tactician with an impressive CV.

Chelsea are in the market for a new manager following Graham Potter’s sacking on Sunday. For now, Bruno Saltor is the interim boss.

ESPN pundit Burley is convinced the Chelsea fanbase would hate it if Simeone walked through the doors. He’s told Todd Boehly and the rest of the ownership to overlook the Atletico coach.

“Could you imagine if they went for someone like Diego Simeone? I’m saying it would be the most horrible thing ever if you’re a Chelsea fan, because his football is appalling,” Burley told ESPN.

We tend to agree that a defensive style would be met with anger from the Blues supporters.

There is now some exciting attackers at the club, especially in the wide roles, so is Simeone really the right man to unluck their full potential?
