Chelsea have finally announced their newest signing, despite a deal being agreed to bring him in for more than a year now.

Estevao Willian has officially been revealed as a new Chelsea player, after Blues fans knew he would be joining them after his final game for Palmeiras during the recent Club World Cup.

The Brazilian faced his new club in that game, scoring a sensational goal and impressing his future teammates in the process.

Estevao got off to a perfect start in training, being part of the winning team alongside the likes of Joao Pedro and Reece James.

Estevao Willian’s Chelsea contract length revealed

Chelsea believe they have signed a ‘generational talent’ when it comes to the youngster, and there are no plans to send him on loan despite his inexperience in Europe.

Enzo Maresca will ease Estevao into action with his new side, however he has plenty of time to make an impact with the Blues.

As per Ben Jacobs, the Brazil international has put pen to paper on an eight-year deal, which even then will only take him up until the age of 26 to complete.

He said: “Estêvão Willian’s contract at Chelsea runs until summer 2033.”

Offering out long contracts has been a key part of the project being undertaken by Todd Boehly at the club. The likes of Cole Palmer also have deals that will take him up until 2023.

Estevao already dreaming of another club

Despite what is likely to be a long-term spell at Stamford Bridge, it remains to be seen if his entire first team career plays out in West London.

Estevao has already said he hopes to play in La Liga one day. Many were actually surprised Chelsea had beaten the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona to a deal.

This will of course not be what Chelsea fans will want to hear, however the Trent Alexander-Arnold saga from earlier this year will be proof of the pull the big clubs in Spain still have on some of the best players in the world.

The Brazilian could make his first appearance for the Blues this weekend when the Blues take on Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan in two pre-season friendlies at Stamford Bridge.
