Mason Mount strode into Rio Ferdinand’s Premier League team of the year for his consistency in a Chelsea jersey.
Ferdinand was delivering his TOTS on Vibe with Five, a side dominated by names from Manchester City and Manchester United.
Two Tottenham Hotspur stars were included, alongside Mohammed Salah from Liverpool.
Only one player representing Chelsea made the cut and it wasn’t much of a surprise who Ferdinand selected.
“Mount has been ridiculously consistent,” said the former Manchester United centre-back.
“Every time I’ve watched Chelsea, he’s been, if not the best, one of the top two players on the pitch.
“He’s so sound in all areas of his game. I think he is only going to get better. Great kid as well.”
Mount has lassoed plenty of praise from pundits for his reliable performances this campaign.
Jamie Redknapp and Paul Merson both included the 22-year-old in their Sky Sports TOTS, with plenty others giving him an honourable mention.
Blues fans felt similarly impressed by their young midfielder and voted him for the club’s player of the year.

It’s difficult to see where Mount’s trajectory will end.
With a Champions League final to be contested on Saturday and the European Championship’s looming, it certainly won’t be anytime soon.
Potentially being crowned champions of Europe domestically and internationally would top of what’s been a sensational couple of years for the England ace.
Only yesterday it seems that Mount was making his senior Chelsea debut, suffering defeat to Manchester United on the league’s opening weekend in 2019.
Few could have predicted the dazzling gem that stands before us now, but he is a living example of how far talent and dedication can propel you.
