Chelsea attacker Cole Palmer says he and his team-mates do feel under pressure to win games.

The Blues have assembled quite a young and inexperienced squad, but Cole Palmer has told The Athletic and other outlets that there is still an expectation for the side to be successful.

Chelsea have not really delivered this season, finding themselves in 11th place in the Premier League table.

However, they did manage to find a bit of form just before the international break, beating Burnley and Fulham in consecutive matches.

Pressure at Chelsea

Palmer says everyone at Chelsea knows that they have to win games.

The attacking midfielder said: “Everyone is so young to the project, we just need to try to win some trophies to get Chelsea back to where they were.

“There’s pressure because you’re playing for Chelsea but everyone knows how it is within the club. We have to go out with no fear.”

Chelsea need to keep winning

Yes, it is a young Chelsea squad and well done to Mauricio Pochettino for getting the team out of the slump they were in and guiding them to three straight wins in all competitions.

However, beating the likes of Fulham and Burnley and progressing in the Carabao Cup should be the bare minimum.

After all the money that they have spent, the Blues need to continue picking up victories and really compete against sides such as Arsenal when they take them on.

Mikel Arteta’s men travel to Stamford Bridge after the international break and are level on points at the top of the table with their north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

A club of Chelsea’s size will be expected to get there, especially after their expenditure over the last three transfer windows. So without a doubt, Palmer and his team-mates are under pressure to perform.
