Chelsea defender Axel Disasi thinks Mauricio Pochettino has a “very great player” in his squad.
Axel Disasi and Thiago Silva partnered each other in central defence in Chelsea‘s 1-0 win against Fulham over the weekend.
And speaking to football.london after the game, the former had nothing but praise for the latter.
Disasi and Silva seem to have a great relationship, with the pair seen embracing each other in a hug at full-time.

Disasi could not stop raving about Silva following Chelsea’s recent victory over their west London rivals.
On his teammate, the Frenchman said: “Everyone knows the quality of Thiago. He’s a very great player. He has lots of experience and every day I try to learn from him. I try also to help him with my strength. It’s good to play with him.”

Disasi’s praise of Silva is certainly warranted. Despite now being 39 years of age, Silva is still an incredible centre-back. Chelsea would be much worse without him.
According to the Premier League’s official website, the Brazilian has made 91 clearances this season, the fourth most in the division.
Silva is going to be a hard player for Chelsea to replace, and it does look like something the Blues will have to consider soon.
The Brazil international’s contract expires this summer and he does not appear to be close to signing a new one. Based on how Silva has performed in the current campaign, Chelsea should really not be letting him go.
For whatever reason, though, they are yet to offer him a fresh deal, making an exit at the end of the season a possibility. But hopefully, it does not come to that and Silva remains at Stamford Bridge for at least another year.
