Diego Longo has described Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk as an “extraordinary player”.
The Teuta boss was Dynamo Kyiv assistant manager from 2020–21 so is familiar with Ukrainian football and claims he suggested Mykhailo Mudryk to some clubs in his homeland Italy.
Speaking to Sport Italia, Longo said: “Mudryk is a big danger, an extraordinary player. I was lucky enough to see him and meet him. To tell you the truth even to suggest him to some Italian clubs when he was worth very little. But as always the answer was that they couldn’t risk it.”

Chelsea have not quite seen this extraordinary player that Longo has spoken about just yet, with Mudryk having really struggled at the club since arriving from Shakhtar Donetsk back in January.
The 22-year-old is actually yet to open up his account in blue. However, he is young and is still early into his career at Stamford Bridge, so there is time for him to turn things around.
Mykhailo Mudryk needs minutes
If Mudryk is to show what he is really capable of, then the Ukrainian needs game time, which he has barely got this season.
Mudryk is yet to start a game under Mauricio Pochettino, which needs to change.

The Argentine has been using Ben Chilwell, a defender, on the left wing. It is an experiment that has not really brought any success to Chelsea, while you have to wonder what a left-back playing in the Ukraine international’s position is doing for his confidence.
When you consider all of the above, Mudryk should be given a proper chance soon, with the Blues’ next game versus Bournemouth a good opportunity.
If the £100,000-a-week (Spotrac) winger cannot start against the Cherries, who were only promoted last year, then which match is he going to be trusted to play in?
