Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea are now considering making a move to sign Brazillian youngster Lorran.

He took to Twitter to state the Blues are rivalling Manchester United for his signature, with a move for the 17-year-old potentially going to set either side back more than £43m.

Despite only joining Flamengo in January, there is already talk that Lorran has impressed to a level where some of the biggest clubs in the world are interested in signing him.

The intention would likely be to loan him back to Brazil to further his development, with an eye towards embedding him in the future.

Chelsea and Todd Boehly have not been shy in bringing in plenty of players who have not yet reached their peak, but could be stars of the future.

One of the ones they are most excited about is Kendry Paez, who recently made his debut for the Ecuador first team alongside Moises Caicedo.

He became the youngest South American in history to contribute a goal or assist, as he enjoyed a first appearance to remember.

It looks as if they are ready to enter the youth market again, with Romano claiming that they have sent scouts to track Lorran.

He said: “Understand Manchester United and Chelsea scouts recently tracked Lorran, Brazilian top talent born in 2006. Release clause included in his Flamengo deal: €50m.

“He signed with Roc Nation Sports Brazil, the agency of JayZ — with Vinicius Jr, Paquetá, Martinelli, Endrick.”

If he turns out as good as any of the other players on his agent’s books, whoever signs the youngster could be getting themselves a real star.
