Levi Colwill’s uncle, Barry Mason, has taken to Twitter to deny reports that the youngster has demanded a starting role at Chelsea.
The 19-year-old has been on tour with the Blues in the United States, however an injury denied him an appearance in the opening friendly victory over Club America.

Despite training with the first team, rumours suggest the club are looking for a complete overhaul of their defence, looking to add to the signing of Kalidou Koulibaly.
Jules Kounde and Presnel Kimpembe have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, potentially blocking a route to the starting line-up for Colwill.
This had posed suggestions that the promising youngster was keen to leave the club, with him not being short of Premier League suitors who could offer him starting minutes.

Colwill rumours claimed to be untrue
However, Mason claimed any reports stating his Nephew was making demands to start for the club were way off the mark.
He said: “Some fake news not once has Levi demanded to start or be in the starting 11.”
Chelsea fans will be hopeful any situation can be resolved, given the club’s very public history of not realising the quality of players they have in front of them.
You only need to look back 12 months to see the club’s inability to keep promising stars in the centre-back position, with Fikayo Tomori and Marc Guehi already proving their quality at AC Milan and Crystal Palace respectively.

The opportunity for Colwill to learn from some of the best in the game awaits him, with the experience of Thiago Silva and Kalidou Koulibaly matched by few at the top level.
A potential Premier League loan move could also be a massive benefit for Chelsea, with them able to analyse how he fares in the top flight with almost certainly more minutes than he’d be getting in West London.
