Joao Felix has endured a seriously tough time since his loan spell at Chelsea ended a few weeks ago.

The Portugal international was banished from Atlético Madrid training by Diego Simeone as the Argentine made it clear that the 23-year-old is not in his plans.

Now, things have gone from bad to worse for Joao Felix after leaving Chelsea

What’s the story?

Well, the £113m man has not received many offers this summer, which remarkably resulted in him telling Fabrizio Romano that he would love to join Atlético Madrid’s rivals Barcelona if the opportunity presented itself.

The Portuguese forward said: “I’d love to play for Barça. Barcelona has always been my first choice and I’d love to join Barça. It was always my dream since I was a kid. If it happens, it will be a dream come true for me.”

Understandably, that has not gone down well with supporters at the Wanda Metropolitano, and fans have now reacted to Felix’s comments.

Each player to record 100 appearances for Atlético Madrid receives a plaque on the Walk of Legends.

Felix has one of his own after registering 131 appearances for the Spanish giants, although it has now been vandalised by fans after his comments about Barcelona – as you can see below.

Some Chelsea fans may recall Thibaut Courtois also having his Atlético Madrid plaque vandalised after the Belgium international moved to Real Madrid in 2018.

Joao Felix may be more attractive to Chelsea now

After Simeone banished Felix from training and fans turned against him, the attacker’s value has surely dropped significantly.

The Evening Standard believe Chelsea were put off by Atlético Madrid’s £88m valuation earlier this summer – the Spanish side’s offer of another loan deal for £16m did not interest the Blues either.

Now – however – if the events following his return to Spain result in his price tag dropping substantially, Chelsea may view a deal differently, especially as Mauricio Pochettino could do with another forward at Stamford Bridge.

Hopefully, Felix finds a solution this summer – he is far too talented to fizzle out at the age of just 23.
