‘Fantastic’ Chelsea player trained at Cobham just one day after playing for his country

Chelsea have seen a lot of their players represent their countries over this international break.

That includes the likes of Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill and Noni Madueke, who all played for England over the weekend.

Palmer started for the Three Lions in their 3-1 win against Finland on Sunday, while Colwill and Madueke were brought on in the second half.

Colwill recently praised Madueke for his defensive work this season, with the centre-back believing that his teammate is doing more than just scoring goals right now. In the six Premier League appearances that Madueke has made, he has netted four times.

Noni Madueke already back in Chelsea training

Despite playing for England on Sunday, Madueke returned to Chelsea training on Monday.

Chelsea’s official website confirmed that the winger was involved in Monday’s session at Cobham as Enzo Maresca‘s side gear up for a tough game against Liverpool.

It is a match that Madueke will be expected to start after the impact that he has made this season. The 22-year-old scored in Chelsea‘s last game, a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest, and bagged a hat-trick against Wolverhampton Wanderers in August.

“I can judge Noni’s performance, which was fantastic,” Maresca said after the Wolves win.

Noni Madueke set to start against Liverpool

Pedro Neto is Chelsea’s other option for the right flank, but with Madueke already back in training and in form at the moment, again, you suspect that he will get the nod when the Blues travel to Anfield on Sunday.

Whoever starts on the right that day, it is going to be a hard game for Chelsea. Liverpool are flying under Arne Slot right now, taking 18 points from their first seven matches.

Maresca’s men will have to be at their best if they are to beat the league leaders. This could end up being a 1-1 draw, which would definitely not be the worst result in the world for Chelsea, who lost 4-1 at Anfield last season.
