Chelsea are looking to complete a large portion of their transfer business in the early stages of the summer transfer window.

They are no doubt looking to give the best platform for success for new manager Enzo Maresca ahead of his first season of Premier League management.

Signings are going to be a big part of that, with many thinking they will be really kicked into gear when the sale of Ian Maatsen is confirmed.

A striker is reportedly high up on the list of what the club want to bring in, and it seems they have determined one player they want to bring in.

Marc Guiu has emerged as a top candidate to sign, with it being claimed that they were set to trigger the release clause to sign him in the coming days.

It looks as if the excitement is on both sides of the deal too, with Fabrizio Romano saying on Twitter that the youngster is excited about the prospect that awaits him at Stamford Bridge.

He said: “Chelsea are set to trigger €6m release clause for Marc Guiu already this week, after telling Barça about their plan on Tuesday.

“Guiu, excited about Chelsea project as he will be part of the first team under Enzo Maresca in pre-season.”

It has been claimed that Maresca himself was pushing the club’s interest in Guiu, and the fact he is available for a low fee considering his promise has certainly attracted the club.

It remains to be seen if that is the only addition the club make up top, with them reportedly interested in a number of options to sign.

Jhon Duran has been mentioned as a candidate ever since January, however it does look as if the interest in signing him has cooled slightly.
