‘Feels so good, doesn’t matter’: Some Chelsea fans confident despite bad injury news dropping

Chelsea supporters had full faith that Andreas Christensen would once again step up in the absence of Thiago Silva against Liverpool later today.

The Blues were boosted by Silva’s recent return to training after a month’s injury absence.

However, Thomas Tuchel confirmed the 36-year-old wasn’t fit enough to travel to Anfield tonight.

This news may have once concerned Chelsea fans, but they felt very optimistic that Christensen could more than manage the big Premier League occasion.

Christensen’s rise from fourth choice centre-back to leading Chelsea’s defensive revolution under Tuchel cannot be overlooked.

The Danish defender has started every game since Silva was forced off against Tottenham Hotspur at the beginning of February.

In that period, Chelsea have kept four clean sheets.

Tonight’s tough fixture away to Liverpool will be another opportunity for Christensen to prove himself as a regular in Tuchel’s team.

He has already seen off the likes of Luis Suarez and Joao Felix at Atletico Madrid and the league’s second top scorers in Manchester United.

Liverpool’s fabled front three have lost some of their sparkle this season, but this not to say they cannot still dazzle on their day.

All of the Blues back-line, including Christensen, will need to be on their A-game if they’re to make it 11 matches unbeaten in all competitions.
