Alan Pardew thinks Chelsea fans are finally seeing the best of Conor Gallagher.

Conor Gallagher failed to make much of an impact at Chelsea last season following his return from his loan spell at Crystal Palace.

However, the midfielder has really impressed this term. And Alan Pardew, speaking on talkSPORT yesterday, has hailed him as a “top talent”.

Gallagher put in another good performance against Manchester City, helping his side to draw 4-4. He was not afraid to test Ederson, with one of his shots resulting in Nicolas Jackson tapping in on the rebound to grab his fourth goal in two games.

Conor Gallagher a top talent

It is fair to say that Pardew is an admirer of Gallagher.

Discussing the Chelsea midfielder on talkSPORT, the former Premier League manager said: “I was really pleased for Gallagher. He’s finally showing Chelsea fans what he showed at Crystal Palace, he is a top, top talent.”

This really is the best Gallagher has ever played in a Chelsea shirt and the stats back it up.

For example, according to WhoScored, the 23-year-old is currently making 2.8 tackles per game. Marc Cucurella is the only player in Mauricio Pochettino‘s squad who has a higher average.

Gallagher also has the most assists in the Premier League among his team-mates, registering four so far.

He has done a lot of dirty work this season, but he is also helping out Chelsea’s attack. They would have fewer goals without him.

If Gallagher starts scoring himself now, the England international would start to look like the complete package.

Pochettino will be pleased with what he is seeing from him at present, though, with the Argentine having started the player in all of Chelsea’s Premier League games so far.

Gallagher’s contract is set to expire in 2025, but there is a chance that he signs a new one and remains at Stamford Bridge, which would be a big boost based on how he is playing at this moment in time.
