Chelsea manager Frank Lampard praised defender Andreas Christensen for his first-half performance in the draw away to Leicester City on Saturday.
The Blues recorded a 2-2 draw in the Premier League fixture, as third hosted fourth at the King Power Stadium.
Antonio Rudiger scored two headers in the second-half for visitors Chelsea, but Leicester netted through Harvey Barnes and then Ben Chilwell in-between those rare goals for the defender.
Lampard picked out Christensen for his individual contribution, claiming that especially in the first-half he caught the eye.
But he did reveal that the 23-year-old was struggling with illness at half-time despite playing the entire 90 minutes.
“Andreas Christensen he was struggling with a bit of a fever at half-time but his first-half performance was really good,” Lampard told BT Sport, as quoted by their Twitter account.
Christensen has forced his way back into the Chelsea XI recent times and it looks like he’s now in Lampard’s good books again just like earlier in the season
The Danish centre-back has now started four consecutive league matches after spending the previous five on the bench.
He was extremely comfortable in the opening half against Leicester, as he handled goal machine Jamie Vardy well and looked great in playing out from the back.
Christensen was perhaps lucky to get away with an error in the second-half, as he lost defender Jonny Evans in the penalty area from a corner and gave him a free header at goal.
Fortunately for him the opposition centre-back put his header wide and it sounds like Lampard was still delighted with Christensen.
