Frank Lampard faces the tough task of picking up his players following the defeat to Real Madrid ahead of another Premier League match.

The Blues look ahead to welcoming Brighton, a team who have simply looked better than them domestically this season.

With the Champions League tie not yet dead in the water, it will be interesting to see if the interim boss looks to rotate to give the competition one last crack.

Here’s The Chelsea Chronicle’s prediction for the starting eleven against Brighton tomorrow.

Fingers were pointed at Kepa Arrizabalaga in the week, and it’s now time for Edouard Mendy to be handed a chance to reclaim his spot in the side.

Reece James will continue on the right of a five, as the club desperately await serious competition for him in the form of Malo Gusto next season.

Wesley Fofana had a rough night up against Vinicius Jr in the week, but he will continue on the right of a much-changed back three.

The central role will be filled by Trevoh Chalobah, who could be in line for a start vs Real Madrid following injuries and suspensions.

Despite not being eligible for Champions League matches, Benoit Badiashile will get his first and much-deserved appearance under Lampard.

With the red card last week, Ben Chilwell will have no midweek game to worry about as he will start again at Stamford Bridge.

N’golo Kante’s return will still need to be managed, leaving Mateo Kovacic the chance to make up for a poor performance against Madrid.

He will be again partnered by Enzo Fernandez, fresh off a reported extension to his deal with Chelsea.

Playing between both the midfield and attack, Mason Mount will make his first start for a long time as talk about his contract continues to swirl.

After being benched against Madrid, Kai Havertz will return to the starting side to face Brighton tomorrow.

He will be joined in attack by Mykhailo Mudryk, who was unfortunate that circumstances at the Bernabeu stopped him getting on the pitch.
