Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has said that he has been very impressed by Kalidou Koulibaly since he joined.
Speaking at his press conference today, which Football London were in attendance at, Lampard confirmed that the centre-back could miss the rest of the season with injury.
Koulibaly picked up a hamstring problem early on in Lampard’s reign, when he had to be subbed off against Real Madrid.
But even in the short space of time they worked together, Lampard has suggested that he was very impressed by the central defender.
He said: “Koulibaly – out for a while yet. Tight call for the season, working away. Been impressed with him, he’s a professional.”
Here to stay?

Interestingly, Lampard’s words of praise may come at a good time for Koulibaly.
The London Evening Standard has already suggested that Lampard will be happy to offer some advice to Mauricio Pochettino, if he does take over at Chelsea.
If that is the case, then he may well be offering a positive report on the Senegalese international.
That could stand Koulibaly in good stead, as rumours continue to swirl over his future.
There have been claims that the 31-year-old could leave Stamford Bridge, just a year after he signed for £33 million.
But with Lampard clearly impressed, it could yet be decided that he does still have a future in London after all.
