Chelsea interim boss Frank Lampard has sent some kind words to his predecessor Graham Potter this afternoon..
The Blues sacked Graham Potter as their head coach over the weekend, making him the second managerial casualty at Stamford Bridge this season.
Since then, Bruno Saltor took charge for Tuesday night’s 0-0 Premier League draw against Liverpool.
Chelsea have now confirmed on Thursday afternoon, via their official website, that Frank Lampard has been appointed the caretaker manager until the end of the season.
It’s a move that does allow the Blues owners more time to find a long-term managerial appointment.

Speaking in his first press conference since becoming Chelsea’s temporary manager, Lampard did give a special mention to Potter.
“I want to say credit to Graham Potter, who I don’t know that well, but from everything I see about him, he’s a good man and a very good coach. Sometimes, for whatever reason, things don’t align or don’t work. I’ve been in that situation personally,” Lampard said, as quoted by the club’s official YouTube account.
Lampard is one man who knows exactly what it feels like to be dismissed by Chelsea. In fact, he was sacked by Premier League rivals Everton earlier this season, too.
However, the legendary Blues player has now been given a second opportunity to manage in West London.
He’s only been given the job for the next couple of months until the end of the campaign, but can he pull off a huge upset in the Champions League quarter-finals against Real Madrid?

Chelsea fans should strap in and enjoy the fun for the next few weeks.
It feels like a bit of a free hit for Lampard, who has been given a chance to rebuild some of his managerial reputation.
One thing for certain is he’s an individual who is passionate about Chelsea Football Club, something that did come across in his press conference earlier today.
Everyone should hope the ownership do their best research to appoint the right manager next. In the meantime, Lampard can try galvanise this group and the fanbase for one final push this season.
