Frank Lebeouf predicts the position Mykhailo Mudryk is going to play for Chelsea after signing

Frank Lebouef has predicted that Mykhailo Mudryk is mainly going to be used on the left of Chelsea’s attack following his move to Stamford Bridge.

The Ukrainian forward completed his move last week from Shakhtar Donetsk to Chelsea, signing an eight-and-a-half year contract worth £97,000-a-week.

Aged 22, Mudryk arrives in west London as a highly-rated talent looking to add goals and assists to a struggling Blues attack.

The left-winger, who’s renowned for his blistering pace, doesn’t have bucket loads of experience. However, he’s earned his high-profile transfer after dazzling for Shakhtar, including on the Champions League stage.

ESPN pundit and former Chelsea player Frank Lebouef has given a big thumbs up to the Mudryk deal.

He’s expecting the speedster to mainly start from the left flank, something he’s done in his short career to date.

“I think he’s a great player. He has a great future,” Lebouef told ESPN.

“I’m looking forward to seeing him play with the Blues. I guess he’s going to play on the left side.

“It’s a good signing, for sure.”

With Christian Pulisic and Raheem Sterling currently out injured, Mudryk should have a free run at Chelsea’s left-winger position when he’s deemed ready to play by Graham Potter. Blues fans will hope his debut comes as soon as Saturday’s trip to Liverpool in the Premier League.

Mason Mount does sometimes play games drifting infield from a wide left position, but Mudryk is an out-and-out winger that can torment opposition full-backs.

If Mudryk and Hakim Ziyech start on opposite flanks, Chelsea could definitely attack with great width. Do they have the central figures to finish off chances, though?

Chelsea’s new No.15 can drift into central areas, so it’ll be interesting to see how he fares under someone like Potter, who does get creative with his systems.
