Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah will now almost definitely be leaving the club in January.
He took to YouTube to state that his desire to play first team football is a key reason into why he will be on the move when the transfer window opens again.
Many may have even forgot Chalobah was actually at the club right now. He is yet to feature this season due to injuries.
The club reported yesterday too that he had suffered a setback in his recovery, with his potential return date currently unknown.
However, there really are no guarantees he will even be involved again for the club, and an exit has looked on the cards ever since the window slammed shut.
Now, Romano has claimed his information states that the departure is almost guaranteed now.
Chalobah almost certainly leaving
He said: “I told you multiple times that there is a concrete opportunity for him to leave in January. Now, I can tell you from my information that Chalobah will leave in January.
“It is the intention of the club, they were prepared to let him go to Nottingham Forest in the final hours of the summer transfer window but the deal collapsed because Chalobah rejected.
“The interest from Bayern remains, but there are also other clubs. In any case, Chalobah is ready to go, because while he loves Chelsea and he loves to play for Chelsea, he wants to play, for him it’s crucial. He doesn’t have this opportunity at Chelsea.
“A January exit is very likely and 90% agreed.”
It remains to be seen what fee Chelsea attract for a player who has zero minutes under his belt this season.
However, it is likely not to reach the £50m figure they were asking for during the summer transfer window.
