Fulham manager Marco Silva has raved about Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez ahead of Monday’s derby game.

Local rivals Fulham and Chelsea face off at Craven Cottage on Monday night in the Premier League.

The Blues make the short trip across West London with poor form in the league this season, but they’ll be buoyed by a midweek Carabao Cup victory against Brighton.

Meanwhile, Fulham beat Norwich City in the week to progress to the Carabao Cup fourth round. They’re above Chelsea in the Premier League standings right now, too.

Chelsea midfielders Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez have been given a special mention by the opposition manager ahead of the upcoming fixture, as quoted by journalist Ryan Taylor on X.

When discussing Caicedo and Fernandez, Silva said: “You’re talking about players worth £250m. It says a lot about how much they wanted them in that squad. They have the quality, they have the energy to create a very good fight with our midfield line.”

It’s quite remarkable that Chelsea have two £100million-plus midfielders in their ranks, but they’re still trying to work out the best formula to play them together.

Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino has tried a number of different systems so far to accommodate his midfielders, which also includes Conor Gallagher and Lesley Ugochukwu. Romeo Lavia is a forgotten man that will also come into the equation once he’s fit again.

We would like to see a Caicedo-Fernandez midfield pivot against Fulham, with Cole Palmer in a No 10 position just in front.

Caicedo, 21, is a destructive midfielder that provides a great engine and willingness to win the ball back. Meanwhile, 22-year-old Fernandez is the more creative type, albeit we don’t want him lost too high up the pitch.
