Chelsea were beaten at Stamford Bridge by rivals Fulham for the first time since 1979 in yesterday’s Boxing Day showdown.

Fulham scored two late goals to secure a 2-1 win over Chelsea in the Premier League, which sent the away section into pandemonium.

Cole Palmer put the Blues in front with a special first-half goal, where he dribbled past a couple of players and tucked in a low finish. Incidentally, Palmer broke Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s Chelsea record for the most Premier League goals in a calendar year.

However, Harry Wilson and Rodrigo Muniz scored late goals for visitors to earn them three points.

Fulham troll Tosin Adarabioyo on TikTok

There was certainly some extra spite in the air during the Boxing Day fixture.

First of all, it was a West London derby between two neighbours with bad blood. On top of that, Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo received a lot of stick from the away supporters in yesterday’s match.

Tosin, 27, spent four years at Craven Cottage before leaving Fulham in the summer on a free transfer. It’s Chelsea that have been the big winners because the powerful centre-half completed the switch to Stamford Bridge.

Remarkably, Fulham’s official account on TikTok mocked former player Tosin after the win over Chelsea.

They posted a selection of images reminding the central defender of his Fulham exit and yesterday’s score.

It’s a bit of light-hearted banter after a rare derby day win for Fulham, but it feels pretty harsh singling out an individual who spent four years with them.

Tosin will have the last laugh at Chelsea

History suggests that Tosin will win a lot more games than lose now that he’s on the blue side of the Chelsea-Fulham rivalry.

While Fulham did climb up to eighth in the Premier League table with yesterday’s win, Chelsea stay in second spot. The Blues return to action on Monday for their final game of 2024 away to Ipswich Town.

Tosin has started four of Chelsea’s last five league matches, showing some decent form in the heart of defence.

Chelsea youngster Sam Rak-Sakyi claims Tosin is a “real leader”, which is great to hear. The 27-year-old is a valuable addition to the group with his experience and leadership, plus he’s looking commanding and composed on the pitch in his performances.
