Gabby Agbonlahor has already changed his mind on where Chelsea will finish in the Premier League this season.

Speaking to talkSPORT last month, Agbonlahor said in his pre-season prediction that Chelsea would finish below Liverpool during this 2023/24 campaign.

The two rivals played out a fascinating 1-1 league draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Now, Agbonlahor has had a change of heart in the aftermath of that result.

The talkSPORT pundit believes that Chelsea are now more likely to gatecrash the top four above Liverpool:

“Looking at Chelsea, I’m starting to think City, Arsenal, Newcastle, Chelsea my top four. If I’m choosing from the first game performances, I don’t see Liverpool or Man United in that top four,” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.

Chelsea are certainly one of the biggest unknowns going into the new season, where they’ve got a new head coach in the dugout and a new-look squad of players.

It feels like the performance against Liverpool has helped lift the optimism around Stamford Bridge already, but we suspect that’ll come crashing down if the Blues fail to beat West Ham this weekend.

We’re definitely expecting it to take some time for this young group to gel out on the pitch.

These league predictions are always extremely tough to call and get correct, so let’s just enjoying seeing what Pochettino can do with this squad. On paper, he’s now got some great tools at his disposal.
