Gabriel Agbonlahor does not think former Chelsea player Mason Mount is the answer for Manchester United.
United bought Mason Mount from Chelsea during the summer and Agbonlahor has now questioned that signing and his decision to take the No.7 shirt on talkSPORT.
The attacking midfielder has not made much of an impact at Old Trafford so far.

In five Premier League games for his new side, Mount is yet to score or provide an assist. He has not come up with a goal contribution in the Champions League either, though the Englishman has only played one game in the competition.
Gabriel Agbonlahor questions both Manchester United and Mason Mount
Agbonlahor is not convinced with United’s decision to sign Mount and also cannot understand why the former Chelsea man chose the No.7 shirt.
Speaking on talkSPORT, the retired striker said: “I don’t know why he took that number. Of course it does [add to the pressure]. That’s David Beckham’s.
“I just don’t know why he took that and I just look at that Manchester United team and is Mason Mount the answer? No.”
Mason Mount struggling since leaving Chelsea
Mount is obviously not at his best right now, though he was hardly in terrific form before he left Chelsea.
Last term, the England international only managed to score three goals and provide two assists in the Premier League. It must be noted, however, that he did miss a lot of the season because of injury.
Overall, his time at Chelsea was a success. The campaign before, Mount actually scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists, much better numbers.
He helped Chelsea to win the Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup following the Blues’ Champions League triumph in 2021.

Since Mount’s departure, Mauricio Pochettino’s side have brought in Cole Palmer, who says he is loving being at Stamford Bridge right now.
Chelsea will now be hoping that the 21-year-old can inspire the club to glory, just like Mount did when he was in west London. Do that, and supporters will quickly forget about Mount, if they have not already.
