Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer have now given their honest predictions for where Chelsea will finish in the Premier League this season.
They told ‘The Rest is Football’ that they do believe there are signs of improvement at Stamford Bridge under current manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The Blues will have been wishing the international break did not exist this month after they found some of their best performances in the last two games.

Most recently, Chelsea went toe-to-toe with treble winners Manchester City in a thrilling affair in West London.
Cole Palmer scored a last minute penalty to rescue a point, with him in particular starring in recent weeks for the Blues.
Lineker and Shearer have now predicted though that their upturn in form will still not be enough to finish in the top four.
Lineker and Shearer predict Chelsea finish
Lineker said: “They still have a lot to do to get into Europe and I think it is unlikely, very unlikely, that they will make the top four but under Pochettino there are signs of improvements.”
Shearer added: “Yeah, definitely. I don’t think they will make top six but I think they will challenge for seventh of eighth, something like that, which may be enough to get them into the Conference League or whatever it is. I think they are improving and will get better but I don’t expect them to be in the top six.”
While they are unbeaten against the traditional big teams this season, it has been those at the other end of the table who have been a difficulty for Pochettino’s side this season.
Therefore there is some optimism that they can have a strong outing when domestic football returns over the weekend against Newcastle United.
