Gary Lineker managed to made light of Timo Werner’s worries in front of goal for Chelsea during their 2-0 win over Everton yesterday evening.
It was another goalless night for Werner, who squandered his only real opportunity late in the second half.
His troubles and tribulations were felt by Lineker, a former striker himself, who used his Twitter to summarise Werner’s woes.
Having ended a 14 game Premier League goal drought against Newcastle United last month, Werner is beginning to go through this cycle again.
That blank against Everton was the fourth in a row, five if the Champions League tie versus Atletico Madrid is counted.

It’s not like Chelsea’s £45m (Sky Sports) hasn’t had the openings to extinguish this unwanted record.
Thomas Tuchel will argue Werner is bringing much more to his team than just goals.
The 24-year-old’s relentless running and ability to stretch defences has been a vital weapon to Chelsea under Tuchel’s tenure.
This was perfectly highlighted in the huge 1-0 win over Liverpool last weekend.
Chelsea constantly looked to exploit the Reds high-line by playing Werner in behind.
He almost got his just reward by finally finding the back of the net, but was adjudged to be marginally offside in the build up by VAR.

Chances will continue to come for the miss firing forward.
Whether or not he takes them is a different matter.
The Chelsea Chronicle Views
No wonder he isn’t finishing his crisps if it’s salt and vinegar flavour!
Jokes aside, the frequency of Werner’s errors is a slight worry.
I’ve heard so many people say ‘you don’t become bad overnight’, but this has been going on for months.
I’m keeping the faith for now, but my patience may begin to wear thin.
