Gary Neville ordered huge repercussions for Chelsea and the other five Premier League clubs for their involvement in the European Super League.
Passionately speaking on Sky Sports last night, Neville reacted to the news that Chelsea and Manchester City had withdrawn their name from the formation of this controversial competition.
Although it was a noticeable step towards abolishing this project, the former Manchester United defender felt that there needed to be consequences for those teams concerned.

He said: “The fact that City have enacted their withdrawal and it looks like Chelsea is on the way, it’s done, it’s finished.
“They’ll have their PR teams and comms teams scrambling around, trying to make this look as lovely as possible in the next 24 hours – working out the right time to withdraw.
“Perez might have them on a £100 million fine to withdraw. Perez might have them on a massive fine.
“I hope so. I hope Perez has got them on a massive fine to withdraw, the lot of them.”

It was confirmed in the early hours of this morning that all of the ‘Big Six’ had stepped down from the project.
But the backlash from their participation will not go away just like that.
Fines as Neville suggested could just be the tip of the iceberg.
Cries for chairmen and owners to resign or leave have been loud and clear.

Manchester United chief executive, Ed Woodward, announced yesterday he would step down from his role at the end of this season.
It was Bruce Buck who felt the brunt of Chelsea fan’s wrath, although Roman Abramovich hasn’t got off scot-free.
