Chelsea legend John Terry has now taken to social media to gently spar with James Maddison after the win over Tottenham.

He went to Instagram to jokingly tell the 26-year-old to get used to it after he lost at home to the Blues for the first time with his new club.

Maddison was forced off in the first half due to injury, as Spurs hit the self-destruct button against the Blues.

Despite flying into a 1-0 lead, Chelsea grabbed a hold of the game again and eventually got themselves level through a Cole Palmer penalty.

As chaos ensued around them, the Blues kept their head and stuck to the task of trying to break down the nine men who were left on the pitch in white.

They eventually did so through Nicolas Jackson, who added a hat-trick in the final 20 minutes to put the game to bed.

Chelsea fans have been waiting the best part of two years for a win against another ‘big six’ side, and therefore they will have been using the moment to celebrate.

Perhaps none more so than Terry, who looked as if he enjoyed a great night.

His celebrations seemed to irritate Maddison, who looked to remind the Blues hero about the period of play when his side were on top.

He said: “Jesus, you have your eyes closed when it was 11v11 first 15 JT?”

Terry responded: “Don’t worry mate you will get used to it.”

While of course we’ll never know how the game would have played out if it had stayed 11v11, there is enough evidence to suggest that the Blues were coming back into the game anyway before the two red cards.
