Gianfranco Zola has named the three current Chelsea stars that he would have loved to have played alongside.

Zola, who became a Blues hero in the late 90s and early 2000s, is one of the most technically gifted attackers to ever play at Stamford Bridge.

He’s claimed that Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, and Raheem Sterling are current Chelsea players he could have linked up well with on the pitch.

Mount may be going through a tough patch of form recently. However, the English attacking midfielder has been one of the gems in the Blues squad over the last few years.

As for Havertz and Sterling, who both started on the bench during the weekend defeat against Southampton, they’re attackers with a lot of individual quality. Both need to start scoring a lot more regularly, though.

One of Chelsea’s legends has given a big shoutout to a current Blues trio.

When asked which Chelsea players he would like to play with, Zola told Chelsea’s The 5th Stand app: “There are so, so many good players that I would have loved to play with, because they play football the right way. Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, Raheem Sterling. I always had good relationships with players with those qualities.”

It’s going to be on the likes of Havertz, Mount and Sterling to shine if Chelsea are to salvage a season that’s quickly slipping away from them.

Sterling was a rare positive off the bench at the weekend against Southampton, so can he inject some goals into the side?

Sterling and Havertz, who have six goals each so far this season, are the club’s highest scorers. It’s simply not good enough from a squad with this much ability.

There’s some fantastic footballers in the ranks that Graham Potter needs to start getting the best from, with the weekend’s game against Tottenham a perfect chance to turn the tide.
