Charly Musonda has been pictured training with the senior Chelsea group in pre-season – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter have responded to claim they want him to get a chance next season.

Musonda, who last played in the Blues first team in January 2018, is part of a large group working with Chelsea during pre-season.

German Manager Thomas Tuchel is working with a sizeable group of players, plus he’s still got some to return from international duty.

One interesting figure in the Chelsea training ranks is Musonda.

The 24-year-old has been desperately unlucky with injuries in the past couple of years, so it’s easy to forget he’s still on the books at Stamford Bridge.

However, he’s currently active in pre-season.

The Belgian is a talented attacker who can play in central positions behind a striker. Alternatively, he’s a threat with pace and trickery as a left-winger.

Musonda has played seven first-team games for the Blues and been with Chelsea since 2012, but is yet to make a serious breakthrough.

It’s never quite happened for him out on loan in senior football either. He’s had spells with ReaL Betis, Celtic and Vitesse Arnhem in the past.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media still have faith in Musonda.

Here are some Blues fans suggesting he should be kept with the main squad going into next season.

Admittedly, it would be a tall ask for him to break into a group stacked with so much talent in wide areas.
