Glenn Hoddle claims Tuchel’s not knowing his best XI will actually benefit Chelsea

Former Blues manager Glenn Hoddle believes Thomas Tuchel’s not having one particular best XI at Chelsea will actually help him keep his players happy.

The Blues have confirmed their 28-man Premier League squad for the new season (via PL’s official website), which includes their latest signing Romelu Lukaku.

There could still be a few changes due to potential transfer market activities, but it is safe to say that Tuchel has a squad full of high-profile players at his disposal.

While it gives Tuchel plenty of quality options in different positions, he will eventually have to keep these high-profile players satisfied with game time.

However, according to Hoddle, this would not be an issue at Chelsea, thanks to Tuchel’s tendency to rotate his team.

“He had clarity with what he wanted to do with that group of players,” the former Chelsea manager told PL Productions’ The Weekend Preview (via Optus Sport) about Tuchel’s arrival at Chelsea.

“Now he’s improved them with the players coming in as well, and he’s kept the players that he wants.

“He’s not going to be too worried about the ones in the peripheral

“That squad of 25, or whatever it is, he’ll keep them happy.

“There’s no such thing as Chelsea or Manchester City’s best eleven — they don’t know what their best sides are,” he continued.

“What they’ll do is they’ll [rotate and rest players] and they still perform nine, even nearly ten out of ten.

“That’s the beauty of those two clubs at the moment.”
