‘Got every chance’: Ray Parlour makes claim about where Chelsea may finish in the PL this season

Ray Parlour claims Chelsea have “got every chance” of finishing in the Premier League’s top four this season.

For Chelsea, they return to action on Tuesday 27th with a league game at home to Bournemouth.

The Blues lost their previous three matches in the league before the World Cup break, so it feels absolutely vital they get a positive result against Bournemouth.

Graham Potter’s side sit eighth in the division table right now, with an eight-point gap to fourth-placed Tottenham to try pull back. Admittedly, they have played a game less than Spurs.

Chelsea in the top four

TalkSPORT pundit Ray Parlour still feels like there’s plenty of time for Potter’s side to claw themselves back into the Champions League positions.

When asked if Chelsea can make the top four this season, Parlour told talkSPORT: “They’ve got every chance.

“If they can get everybody fit, look at the squad of players they’ve got. It’s very good. It’s just about form now. Can they hit the ground running and start well when we start up on Boxing Day?”

Despite the fact it’s already close to the New Year, Chelsea have still only played 14 league games of this season due to the unusual schedule.

There’s definitely time in the season to turn things around, but it does feel quite a competitive year where a lot of teams will be slipping up. For example, the Blues have lost five of 14 league fixtures already.

In our view, Chelsea simply must hit a double digit points return from the next five games. They play Bournemouth (home), Nottingham Forest (away), Manchester City (home), Fulham (away) and Crystal Palace (home) in the league matches ahead.
