Journalist Guillem Balague has claimed that Chelsea will have to pay £16m in order to meet Graham Potter’s release clause.
The Blues have seemingly made the Brighton manager their number one target to become the next manager of Chelsea after Thomas Tuchel was sacked this morning.
The German was dismissed 100 games into his reign as Blues boss, with last night’s defeat against Dinamo Zagreb a particular low in his tenure.

It has been claimed that the decision had been made before last night’s game, with there being numerous examples of off-field antics cropping up this morning.
Reports have claimed that the Blues are set to approach Brighton today to try and discuss with the English manager the potential of him taking over at the club.
Balague has reported that Potter’s release clause is £16m, with the owners expected to advance in their efforts to try and hire him.
Potter release clause £16m
He said: “Chelsea owner have asked to talk to Potter. And he has a £16m buy out clause
“Tuchel, great strategist but lacks finesse to deal with groups, Dortmund/PSG got to similar conclusions. New ownership want to get rid of anything ‘Abramovich’.”
Potter would no doubt be a sensational coup for the Blues, with him proving already this season just how good a manager he is.

He has currently lead Brighton to fourth in the table, with them boasting the joint best defensive record in the league.
That stat in particular will capture the attention of Blues fans, with it being notable how their defensive solidarity has dropped off since the halfway point of his reign.
Elsewhere there are the options of Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane, who have a lot more experience with top players and in European competitions.
