Chelsea youngster Lucas Bergstrom has been spotted in Football Daily’s video in training with the first team.

The goalkeeper recently returned to the club from League One outfit Peterborough United, where he impressed a number of figures at the club.

None more so than chairman Darragh MacAnthony, who claimed they were already planning on loaning him next season too.

However, his form took a dip in line with the club’s, as they began to loiter outside the play-off places.

He had originally enjoyed a spell of four clean sheets in his opening 11 games for his loan club, however was only able to add one more to those in the 10 games after.

One positive though of his spell in Peterborough will undoubtedly be his call up to the international side, making his debut back in January.

Bergstrom still in first team training

Despite this, he was recalled to Stamford Bridge, when he was thrown straight into first team training by Graham Potter.

Now, he has been spotted doing drills with number one Kepa Arrizabalaga ahead of the Tottenham game this weekend.

His place in the youth team is seemingly gone for now, with Chelsea looking to utilise summer signing Gabriel Slonina in that role up till now.

The USA international has been impressive for the U21 side, keeping two clean sheets in his first two games.

He may be hoping to challenge for a spot in the first team soon, and will probably be encouraged by the fact that it doesn’t seem like either goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge has nailed down a guaranteed role at the club.

Both Kepa and Edouard Mendy are rumoured to be not suitable for the role in the club’s eyes, with them likely to dip into the transfer market at the end of the season.
