Harry Kane impressed by 'truly special' Chelsea player's performance against Real Madrid

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is full of praise for “special” Chelsea player Mason Mount’s performance in the Champions League against Real Madrid.

While N’Golo Kante stole the limelight in the semifinal tie with his outstanding performances in both legs, Mount was reliable as usual in both games.

Aside from scoring the goal that put the tie to bed in the second leg, the 22-year-old, who played deeper compared to his usual inside forward role, was crucial in winning the midfield battle.

Kane, who is certainly familiar with his England teammate’s qualities as a player, has had his say about Mount in a recent interview.

“Mason is a fantastic player,” the Tottenham striker told beIN Sports (via Metro).

“Great on the ball, great worth ethic. He’s a truly special player.

“And it’s great for him to be playing in a Champions League final in a few weeks’ time.

“He was great again against Real Madrid.”

At this point, it should be obvious to anyone that has seen Mount play that he is a special player.

Even with the plethora of attacking talents that Thomas Tuchel has at his disposal at Chelsea, the club academy graduate is still the first attacker on the team sheet.

His incredible work ethic, as Kane pointed out, is arguably one of the main reasons why managers like Frank Lampard, Gareth Southgate, and now Tuchel rely on him.
