Chelsea interim manager Frank Lampard has claimed that he may start Lewis Hall against Nottingham Forest tomorrow.

He said in his pre-match press conference that he was tempted to use the teenager last week when he was forced to make a late defensive change.

It has been a busy week for Hall, after he was not allowed to leave the squad to represent England at the U20 World Cup in Argentina.

A wide range of Blues will be at the tournament, with Carney Chukwuemeka one of the names who will be representing the Young Lions later this month.

However, the 18-year-old is required for his club side after both other first team left backs picked up injuries in recent weeks.

Lampard hints Hall may play tomorrow

Ben Chilwell was the latest name to join the injury list against Bournemouth last weekend, with it looking like a hamstring problem for the England international.

Lampard has claimed that he has certainly considered using Hall from the start this weekend, after being very impressed by his performances so far this season.

He said: “Lewis has a chance. I was tempted to put him on last week but the experience of Azpi was more suitable. He is a very good player, a really talented player. He needs to come out of himself a bit more. I have been really impressed and he is in the running for the last four games.”

With the lack of importance on the remaining Premier League games this season, it would make a lot more sense to give Hall the opportunity to impress, especially after he has already impressed when given his chance earlier this season around the time of the World Cup.
