Kai Havertz insisted that the players in the Chelsea squad are “100 per cent” behind Graham Potter amid doubts over the manager’s future at Stamford Bridge.

The wins against Leeds and, in particular, Borussia Dortmund are huge for Chelsea and under-fire Potter.

These take a lot of pressure off, certainly, but two wins are hardly enough to guarantee his stay at Chelsea next season.

The reality is that Chelsea remain 10th in the league and are not among the favourites to win the Champions League.

Some fans have still reservations about Potter, but according to Havertz, the manager has the support of the dressing room.

“We know that the pressure is coming at him,” the Germany international told beIN SPORTS after the game.

“You can see that he is a big manager.

“We have hundreds of coaches in England that think they know better than him.

” But we know, in the changing room, he is a big personality and a big manager for us.

“He helps all of us a lot, me as well. We are 100 per cent behind him, even though people maybe don’t see it.

“But I think now today everyone saw he is a big manager.”

Potter’s refusing to throw his players under the bus even when his job was reportedly on the line likely makes him a. popular figure among the squad.

He has continuously defended his players from criticism, including Havertz and Marc Cucurella, who repaid the manager’s faith on Tuesday night.
