Chelsea supporters believe they have taken a giant step towards signing Erling Haaland after 90min stated that Manchester City did not want to enter a bidding war for the striker.
The report suggested that City were considering a double deal worth over £100m to buy Borussia Dortmund duo Haaland and Giovanni Reyna.
Chelsea will certainly have something to say about this, having already identified Haaland as their prime transfer target (EuroSport).
90min explained that City was not ready to challenge the Blues if a big bid came in from Stamford Bridge.
Followers of Chelsea responded to the news in expectably excited fashion.
How big the sum will be to pry Haaland away from Dortmund is not yet clear.
He has a release clause of £66m (EuroSport) that does not kick in until next summer, so the fee will be considerably more if Chelsea or City want to pounce soon.
What is certain is that the 20-year-old has certainly repaid his £141,000-a-week (Salary Sport) Dortmund contract in goals.

Haaland has hit an incredible 43 goals in 43 games for BVB. He is already on 27 for the season, eight of those arriving in the Champions League.
Whoever does manage to secure his priceless service will be very fortunate indeed.
