Fulham star Tom Cairney has claimed that one player who Chelsea sold is actually incredibly underrated.

He told BBC Sport’s ‘The Players Channel’ that he believes Willian is easily the best player he has played with in his career.

Willian has established himself as the most important player for Fulham this season, despite the fact that he is the age of 35.

He was let go in 2020 by the Blues, joining Arsenal. It looked here as if career was about to fizzle out.

However, he has enjoyed some what of a resurgence since moving to Chelsea’s West London rivals, becoming their key man in attack.

Cairney has claimed that the Brazilian is easily the best player he has ever played with, and said another legendary Blue is the reason he is not acknowledged more.

Cairney praises Willian

He said: “He is the best player I have ever played with by a mile. His touch, his brain, the way he moves the ball, his decision making. I just can’t imagine what he was like to play with seven or eight years ago at Chelsea.

“And in my opinion he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves because Hazard was that good in the same team that people don’t talk about him in the way they should.

“Because Hazard was ridiculous but for four or five years Willian was one of the best players in the Premier League and he’s 35 now and still stops dead and shifts it and you can’t get near it, and he’s 35.”

Hazard announced his retirement from the game earlier this season, with things not working out for him since he made the move to Real Madrid.

However, him leaving the sport gave us all a chance to reminicse on his time at Stamford Bridge, where he was easily one of the greatest players in world football.
