Chelsea have posted on Twitter a training ground clip of N’Golo Kante – and some Blues fans love the pace on show from their star.

Kante often receives widespread praise for the amount of distance he covers in games. In addition, all the work he does off the ball with tackles, interceptions and blocks.

But, the 30-year-old’s speed is perhaps one part of his game that still goes under the radar.

The French World Cup winner is an irritant to opponents with the way he’s constantly buzzing around for 90 minutes with relentless energy. His pace is a big part of that, though.

He’s not a goal machine, netting 12 goals in 222 appearances for the Blues. However, the way he can join in with counter-attacks at lightning speed is an indication of his engine.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on Twitter were left discussing a training clip of Kante running away from teammate Ross Barkley:

N’Golo Kante can be central to title bid

Kante’s return to fitness at the weekend in the 3-0 win against Tottenham proves how important he still is at Stamford Bridge. The box-to-box midfielder entered the action with the score goalless, but he played a huge role in picking up three valuable points in the Premier League.

If Thomas Tuchel’s side are to live up the hype around being title contenders, they need their all-action French midfielder on his A-game.

He’s got a knack for big games, so it’s great timing he’s back ahead of the weekend’s league showdown. Chelsea face Aston Villa on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup before hosting defending champions Manchester City in the league.
