Graham Potter has expressed his delight with Armando Broja after he scored his first ever Chelsea goal in the win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Chelsea continued to build recent momentum by beating Wolves 3-0 at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.

The Blues jumped up into fourth in the league table for now, so they’re definitely back on track after a turbulent start to the season.

Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic scored either side of half-time to put the hosts into a comfortable position.

Finally, Broja came off the bench to add some more gloss to the scoreline with his late goal.

The 21-year-old striker fired in a low finish to the bottom corner, which marked a memorable first ever senior goal for him in Chelsea colours.

Broja scored first Chelsea goal

The young centre-forward has scored plenty before in Chelsea’s various youth teams, but this weekend will be one he never forgets after netting against Wolves in the Premier League. Tim Sherwood even suggested it may have been his most important goal of his career so far.

It was another cameo performance for him from the bench, and he’s got to be pushing for a start now.

Potter, who is really growing into his position as Chelsea’s head coach, has given a glowing verdict on Broja after his latest impact.

“Nice at the end for Armando to score. I’ve been here three or four weeks so taking no credit, great finish nice pass too and whenever he comes on he works hard for the team. He’s had to be patient but he’s been working hard in training and it’s nice for him to score,” Potter said, as quoted by BBC Sport.

Broja can’t do much more than continuing to put in these really eye-catching displays from the bench, which are full of aggression and quality.

The young centre-forward made his ninth appearance of the season today, with all of them coming as a substitute. However, that first start must be just around the corner, especially given the fixture load this month.

Potter showed today with seven changes to his starting XI that he trusts his squad, so let’s hope that Broja will get more minutes in the near future.
