Journalist Jacob Steinberg has claimed that Chelsea attacker Hakim Ziyech is now set to undergo a medical in Turkey with Galatasary.

He took to Twitter to state he is heading to the European side to hopefully secure himself a move away from Stamford Bridge.

It has been widely claimed that both Ziyech and the club have been keen to end the relationship this summer after a few failed seasons now.

After signing for Frank Lampard’s side and being a player the club legend greatly admires, he has not lived up to the hype he brought with him from Ajax.

It was expected earlier this summer that he was going to be on the move to Saudi Arabia, as the upstart league looked to raid Chelsea of their players that they were open to selling.

Ziyech set for medical

Whilst Kalidou Koulibaly and Edouard Mendy confirmed their own moves, Ziyech unfortunately failed his medical and did not make the move.

However, it remained the fact that he was not going to be breaking back into the setup at Stamford Bridge. He was not handed a shirt number when those for next season were announced.

Now, Steinberg has claimed a move is back on the cards, with Galatasary offering a landing spot for him.

He said: “Hakim Ziyech looking likely to leave Chelsea for Galatasaray. Heading to Turkey for a medical.”

With an excess of stars threatening to build up again at Stamford Bridge, clearing out deadwood like Ziyech is important.

As well as this, getting his £100k-a-week contract off the books is similarly a crucial phase.
