Glen Johnson is convinced that West Ham captain Declan Rice will join Premier League rivals Chelsea.
Rice, who was in Chelsea’s academy as a boy, has spent his entire professional career so far in West Ham colours.
The 23-year-old star has grown into one of the Premier League’s top midfielders in recent years, which is why it’s no surprise he’s just enjoyed a strong World Cup tournament.
He put in some eye-catching performances at the World Cup for England, especially in the quarter-final defeat to France.

Chelsea speculation
The Blues are heavily linked in the transfer rumour mill for West Ham and England’s defensive midfielder.
According to The Telegraph, Chelsea do have plans to hold discussions soon about trying to bring Rice to Stamford Bridge.
He’s proven on the biggest stage just how good he can be, so it seems a massive shame he doesn’t get to play Champions League football at club level.
In our view, Rice would a superb signing for Graham Potter’s side. His World Cup clinic against France should be the final nail in the coffin for any doubters of his.
The post-N’Golo Kante era at Chelsea, which will begin next summer if he doesn’t sign a new contract, is going to be incredibly tough. However, West Ham’s all-action energetic midfield could be a great replacement if Todd Boehly can get him.

Glen Johnson convinced Declan Rice will join Chelsea
Chelsea’s former player is adamant that Rice is going to end up at Stamford Bridge in the future.
When discussing Rice’s future, Johnson told GGRecon: “I don’t want him to [leave West Ham] but he needs to move if he wants to kick on in his career. I think he will end up at Chelsea because he has a soft spot for the club and he knows a number of the lads there. However, you can never know where he will go because he will have a lot of options.”
