Romelu Lukaku was in impressive form last night for his country Belgium – and some Chelsea fans on Twitter raved about the display of their striker.

Lukaku scored twice on Thursday night during Belgium’s 5-2 away win against Estonia in a World Cup qualifying match.

The 28-year-old striker was on the scoresheet in each half.

First of all, the Blues frontman netted with an instinctive finish inside the box. He reacted quickest to a loose ball by hitting a first-time shot on the swivel low into the bottom corner.

He doubled his personal tally in the second half with an effort on his weaker foot inside the area after bullying a defender in the build-up.

It’s clear that he’s developed into the finished article during the past couple of years, so Chelsea know they’ve got a total machine leading the line now at Stamford Bridge.

Romelu Lukaku breathes goals

Lukaku extended his lead last night as Belgium’s all-time top goalscorer, hitting his 65th and 66th goal in the Estonia fixture.

The attacker netted 64 club goals in the previous two years for Inter Milan, plus he’s scored regularly wherever he’s gone in his career.

There is no doubt he’s a missing piece of the jigsaw for Thomas Tuchel’s side, who really now have all the tools needed to launch a serious league title bid this year.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media were left waxing lyrical about their striker during the week.
