Chelsea defender Levi Colwill thinks his team-mate Mykhailo Mudryk can become one of the best players in the world.

Mykhailo Mudryk scored his first goal for the Blues last night in their 2-0 win against Fulham and Levi Colwill has told the Evening Standard that the winger can reach the top.

Mudryk has made a slow start to life in England, but he was finally able to open his account as a Chelsea player yesterday.

It should give him a huge confidence boost, while Chelsea as a whole should be feeling much better after their west London derby victory.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have struggled this season, with their win against Fulham being just their second in the Premier League.

Mykhailo Mudryk destined for the top

Colwill is confident that Mudryk is going to reach the summit of world football one day.

On his team-mate, the Chelsea centre-back said: “He can be one of the best in the world. He’s got everything you want as a winger and as a player.

“It’s tough coming in from Ukraine to Chelsea. There’s a lot of pressure that he may not have experienced, a different culture and other things together.

“It was always going to be tough to hit the ground running but in the first half he was amazing. I’m so happy for him, you could see in the celebrations.”

Long way to go

Mudryk has a lot of work to do if he wants to join the likes of Mohamed Salah and Bukayo Saka, who you would say are two of the best wide men in football right now.

He certainly has the qualities of a dangerous winger, though, with Rio Ferdinand describing him as a “frightening proposition”.

The Ukraine international has the kind of pace that would scare any defender.

Mudryk now needs to start adding goals to his game and if he does that, then maybe he will be able to reach the very top of football one day.
