Jamie Carragher has called for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez to start scoring goals for his side.
Enzo Fernandez was unable to find the back of the net in his team’s 3-0 win against Luton Town on Friday, meaning that the Argentine is still yet to open up his account in blue.
Overall, Carragher has been impressed with him but feels his game is missing goals right now. Speaking during Sky Sports‘ live coverage of Chelsea’s recent fixture, the Liverpool legend said: “That’s the one thing that’s really been missing from his game.
“Obviously not got off the mark yet for Chelsea, but there’s no doubt he’s a class act. He wants to get on the ball and make Chelsea tick and create things, but he’s got to score more goals, certainly with him playing in a more advanced position now.”

While Fernandez is yet to register a goal in a Chelsea shirt, Nicolas Jackson was able to get his first against Rob Edwards’ side.
Chelsea should not have to rely on Enzo Fernandez for goals
It would obviously be great if Fernandez did start scoring goals. And with the Argentina international now playing further forward, as Carragher mentioned, he certainly will be expected to contribute a bit more in attack.
However, as a midfielder, that is not what he was bought to do. The likes of Jackson, Raheem Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk are the ones who need to be firing Chelsea to three points each week.

Sterling did that on Friday after grabbing a brace against Luton and needs to show more of the same going forward.
If he can, while Jackson also continues to find the back of the net, then Chelsea are bound to have a much better season than their last one and may just end up qualifying for the Champions League. If they achieve that, you would probably be able to put this campaign down as a successful one.
