TalkSPORT pundit Dean Saunders has told Liverpool to sign both Mason Mount alongside Jude Bellingham this summer.

The 23-year-old is reportedly no closer to signing a new contract to stay at Stamford Bridge, a situation which seemed unimaginable just 12 months ago.

He has fallen out of favour in recent weeks, with Graham Potter electing to bench him for the past few weeks.

This included the first leg of the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund, and his yellow card off the bench saw him suspended for the second leg this week, where they pulled off their best performance of the week.

The European tie saw them come up against Jude Bellingham, with Chelsea fans making it clear that they would love for him to join them.

Saunders tells Liverpool to sign Mount

However, Saunders has advised Liverpool to spend big money on the duo to revolutionise their midfield.

He said: “Mason Mount, Liverpool should sign him. Or Manchester United. I think he’s having problems, I think his dad’s doing his contract. They can’t get it sorted, the door’s open. If you’re Liverpool or Man United – imagine Liverpool had Bellingham and Mount in midfield. Two good players, but you’ve got to put your hand in your pocket.

“I think he should go to Liverpool. You could slot him in there to join in with the front three, get him the ball, he’s got a good football brain.”

Chelsea need to be careful with Mount. While it is clear he has not been up to his high standards this season, he will certainly strengthen a rival team like Liverpool if he does get his move there.

As for Jude Bellingham, he is still certainly a dream addition for club owner Todd Boehly, however it looks unrealistic based on the club’s interested in signing him.
