‘He’s so good’: Even some Man United fans raved about £88k per-week Chelsea star yesterday

Manchester United supporters couldn’t help but tip their hat to Mason Mount following his fine exhibition for Chelsea against their club.

Overall, the match itself was a pretty tame one.

0-0 was the final score, which was a fair outcome considering how well both teams defended.

That being said, Chelsea did have several outstanding performers at Stamford Bridge yesterday.

Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen earned plaudits for their defensive display, as did N’Golo Kante for his typical tenacious role in midfield.

But it was Mount who caught the attention of some Manchester United fans.

This routine from Mount is nothing new to followers of Chelsea.

They have watched him shine all season, often the emerald in Frank Lampard’s fading crown.

After briefly displacing him from his golden perch, Thomas Tuchel soon discovered how priceless the £88,462 per-week (Spotrac) jewel was to his side.

Mount has since started all but one match under the German coach, rested for the FA Cup tie versus Barnsley.

Admittedly, yesterday was probably not his most outstanding performance.

However, it was a difficult task for any creative player on either team to truly take hold of proceedings.

Instead, it was a game for the goalkeepers and defenders to flex their impenetrable muscles.
