Journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed that Chelsea have faith that one of the youngsters signed by the club has the potential to be big in the future.
He took to Twitter to state that they highly rate one player currently on loan for the club, which is a reason why they are not prioritising signing a player in his position at the moment.
The goalkeeper role is one that was addressed significantly in the summer, with them signing two first team players to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy.
Chelsea not prioritising signing a goalkeeper
While Robert Sanchez started the campaign as the number one, he has up to now been displaced by Djordje Petrovic who has impressed many throughout 2024.
However, there is a player currently on loan from the club who was one of the first players brought in after Todd Boehly took over as owner that they have a lot of faith in.

Gabriel Slonina featured occasionally for the Blues during pre-season, and has been proving his worth on loan this season with KAS Eupen in Belgium.
Whilst they are currently in the relegation round of fixtures, this has not been a reflection of the 19-year-old’s form, with him impressing during his spell there.
Chelsea think Slonina can be a big player
Jacobs has now stated that the club have faith that Slonina can be a key player for them in the future.
He said: “Chelsea are happy with their goalkeepers, and the competition between Djordje Petrovic and Robert Sanchez. Plus, Gaga Slonina highly rated for the future.
“Kepa Arrizabalaga situation needs to be resolved, but buying another keeper is not the priority for Chelsea this summer. Striker, centre-back, left-back and potentially even a midfielder (if Conor Gallagher is sold) all rank higher as it stands.”
The Blues have made moves to sign a number of top young talents before other sides since the new ownership came in, with the likes of Kendry Paez being the star additions.
However, there is certainly faith that the goalkeeper can be added to the list of young players they have signed with the first team a realistic possibility.
