Chelsea were able to beat Sheffield United 2-0 at Stamford Bridge yesterday, but the home supporters were not always happy.

It was a very frustrating first half for them, with Chelsea unable to break down Chris Wilder’s side.

And according to The Telegraph, that led to the Stamford Bridge faithful booing off Mauricio Pochettino and his team at half-time.

Understandably, Chelsea supporters are not happy at the moment. Their club went into that game sitting 12th in the table, having just lost 2-0 to Everton.

The mood, however, should be a bit better now following the win against Sheffield United.

Will Chelsea’s season get better?

It should and we really do expect to see some improvement soon. The Blues have quite a good run of fixtures coming up, while Christopher Nkunku has returned from injury.

The Frenchman did not play against Sheffield United yesterday, but he was able to make the bench. Having a forward of his calibre available is a huge boost.

The January transfer window is also set to open soon and that could see Chelsea move for a new striker. They continue to be linked with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

At this stage, Champions League football looks to be gone. It would be a complete and utter shock if Pochettino’s side managed to qualify for the competition. However, they can still have a good season.

Chelsea are one game away from reaching the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup. Beat Newcastle United on Tuesday, and they make it to that round of the competition.

It is also not impossible for the club to qualify for the Europa League. If they can do that while managing to win the League Cup as well, this season could probably go down as a success, or at least compared to their disastrous 2022/23 campaign.

There is a long way to go, though. One win against a struggling Sheffield United team does not really change much.
